This is a great gospel tune. You might run across it a jam session, so it's a great one to know. There's lots of great versions to listen to. Many famous Bluegrass artists recorded this tune. Ralph Stanley, Don Reno, and Doyle Lawson all have splendid versions of Angel Band.
Sometimes, the instrumentalists don't get a full solo. It's often just a couple measures that go from the 1 to the 5 chord. In the case of Bb the 1 chord is Bb, and the 5 chord is F. You can hear an example of this in the Doyle Lawson recording of this tune.
In that situation you could just play the last three pickup notes from measure 7, and the following measures. If you do that, you'll have a short kickoff that would work perfectly.
