Sixteenth Note Rolls

Metronome is still at 60 BPM. This is equivalent to the quarter notes. We've gone from 1 roll per measure with quarter notes, to playing twice as fast with that by using eighth notes which meant two rolls per measure. We're now doubling that with sixteenth note rolls. There will be 4 per measure. We will count sixteenth notes by saying 1 e & a, 2 e & a, 3 e & a, 4 e & a. ! Count before playing then count while playing. While the idea of this exercise is to keep the metronome at a single speed and keep doubling the amount of rolls we play per measure, if you need to go slower when counting with these sixteenth notes at first that is ok. You will get better at it. If you can't count in time speaking, odds are your playing isn't much better. So count.
