Overview and A Section
Course Summary, and a breakdown of the A Section
We Start off with what's sometimes referred to as "potatoes" These notes before the song start help establish the tempo at a jam, and does it in a stylish way without counting "1,2,3,4". The biggest challenges will be in measures 4 and 6. In measure 4 there is a string crossing while picking 16th notes. Use the looper to isolate, and practice it. Measure 6 has string crossings and a much longer stream of 16th notes. Watch the video for finger placement of the fretting hand. Lastly, be sure to use rest strokes with the your picking hand on the 1/8th notes of the melody for a strong, powerful tone.
Next up, we'll tackle a few variations with the lick switcher.
