This lick walks up to the high melody note that comes in measure 6. The walk-up starts earlier and lasts longer. This makes the tension linger. You can feel the music moving towards a new destination the entire measure. It creates a powerful feeling of release once we get to the melody note in measure 6. Once again, doing this as a double stop only adds to the intensity.
