This lick has the same pick hand pattern from the basic arrangement. It's a substitute for measure 3. The only new thing is the fret hand movement from the 3rd to 2nd fret. It's done as a slide. Time your slide. Have your slide land on the second fret at the same time you hit the open D string with your middle finger.
