Boil Them Cabbage Down
More Picking Patterns and Voicings
A simple song. Remade. This new chord voicing is very common in cross-picking for good reason. It sounds amazing. We are only moving one finger to get from F to C. Here again, we have options for stylistic interpretation. Accent certain notes by playing them louder and others slightly softer. Accent the melody notes played on the D string, or accent the notes played on the B string. The notes on the D string are the melody notes, so we know that will sound great, and the accents will make them stand out. Accenting the notes on the B string will give a drone like sound with the common chord tone of C and F: C. It’s a sound that is very pleasing to the ear.
