This version is closely based on the playing of Wyatt Rice. He employs several cool techniques here to get a uniques flavor. There is some anticipated attack. That's where the melody note is played a bit earlier than expected and held out. This is a really common device used in old-time, fiddle tunes and of course Bluegrass.
