Jordan here again on behalf of the team. I hope you all are doing well and feeling good. I’m so excited about all that’s going on with Tunefox. From the tech to the tunes, I think the team has got some great stuff cooking and I hope you all are ready to dig in.
I’ve been working hard on video content for the most popular banjo tunes, and will be ready to start adding those same kinds of lessons for guitar and mandolin soon. Let me know if there’s some specifics you think would be good to include in these!
Are any of you all attending jams in your area? If so, I’d love to hear about your experience and lend some advice or encouragement if I can. Interacting with you all is the best part of Tunefox for me, and it’s also the best part of Bluegrass in my eyes. It’s all about the people and the wonderful, welcoming, and humble community. There’s a great jam that I’ve been attending, and it’s just outside of Nashville. There’s lots of older experienced pros - as in used to play with Bill Monroe level experienced - and some prodigious young players and pros that go there also. So many interesting and deep cut tunes get called! Anyone ever heard of a tune called “The Long Bow” by Bill Monroe? I know I hadn’t. It’s been really inspiring me to learn and play more. I’m planning on adding one or two of the tunes that catch my ear and interest for everyone to check out each month. Twinkle Little Star for mandolin is one of those. I did this one in the style of Bobby Hicks. As many of you know Bobby was a legend and recently passed away. Hopefully you all dig into this and listen to some of the great music he left us with.
I’ve been chipping away at the request queue. Several of the banjo and guitar tunes were great user requests. As always, there’s more details in the song descriptions for everything new, so read through those before you dive into a new song. Make listening and reading a part of your practice. Try to do that as much as you play.
Ok, check out the new tunes and vids for this month and dive on in! Keep picking and stay tuned y’all.
Thanks,
Jordan, Jakub, Jiri
