This version is a transcription of Sonny Osborne's playing with The Osborne Brothers. That means it is pretty much note-for-note exactly how he played it. If you are a serious student of the banjo, learning to play exactly how the masters played is a great way to learn.
Practice advice. Make listening with Tunefox and the original recording a regular part of your practice. Analyze what is going on through out the song. What rolls are being used? Do you notice any repeating patterns or licks? Do any of those patterns happen over particular chords? If you can find these, you are starting to uncover key elements in Sonny's style. The goal would be to use some of those patterns and licks in your own playing on different songs.
