The Clever Way to Learn & Practice Bluegrass Music
This basic version gets you rolling right along! You'll use mostly the forward roll, so make sure to get some practice with that one. Some alternating thumb and forward-backward rolls are used in the B section. Notice how some measures repeat? Listen through a few times and read through a few more before playing. You'll see the repeating measures. Practice one of those repeatedly using the focus feature. Breaking the song up and learning it's most important pieces will be the most effective and efficient way to learn it.
Check out the licks to add some more authentic Scruggs language. That's all about incorporating fret hand maneuvers like hammer-ons and pull-off in conjunction with the rolls. There's some standard Scruggs licks and a few single string options to check out as well.
