This easy two finger banjo version of In the Garden adds in 5th string notes to fill space between melody notes. After getting down the basic arrangement you may want to try a few licks. Read the banjo tab. Measures that have a colored dot above them indicate that licks are available to learn for that measure.
Two finger banjo is all about using just two fingers for your pick hand - usually your thumb and index finger. You can use thumb and middle as well, you may find that is more comfortable on the 1st string especially. For your fret hand, you can just use your middle finger to fret the melody notes. It will simplify things and be good practice for shifting. If you want to use multiple fingers and do some position based playing then go for it.
Make reading and listening part of practice. Listen regularly to hear the correct timing and memorize the order of the notes. The same goes for reading. Carefully study the banjo tablature. In this arrangement it's suggested you accent certain notes. That means you will play those slightly louder than others. Accents are marked with a greater than sign ">" just above the note in the tablature.
