West Virginia fiddler Burl Hammons is the main source for the melody of this tune and the recordings that he made have influenced many artists to play their own renditions of this fiddle tune. Today, its one of the most popular bluegrass jam tunes and has been covered by artists such as the Red Clay Ramblers, Bob Carlin, Reed Island Ramblers, and more.
